sds_getstring

int sds_getstring (int flag, const char *prompt, char *answer);

Ask the user to specify a string.

This function pauses to get a character string from the user. You may prompt the user to enter the information.

The argument flag represents an integer, either 0 or 1, which signals whether spaces are allowed in the string. When 0, a space is treated as a carriage return. If 1, the user can type spaces and must press Enter to signal the end of the string.

The argument prompt is a command-line prompt requesting that the user enter information. This argument may be null.

The answer argument is the information entered by the user. This can be a string of a maximum of 512 characters, the lastsds_getint(IDR_374) of which is always Ø (ASCII 0).

This function returns RTCAN, RTERROR, or RTNORM.

Example

char string1[512];

sds_getstring(1,"\nType a brief line of text: ",string1);

sds_printf("\nYou entered: %s ",string1);
