Drawing Settings - Units tab

Alias: DDUNITS

The Drawing Units tab of the Drawing Settings dialog box controls all unit-related defaults for progeCAD. Use this tab to change such defaults as unit types, angle direction, angle base, and display precision. From the Change Settings For list, choose Linear Units, Angular Units, or User Coordinate System to set Drawing Units defaults.

DIALOG BOX OPTIONS

Remove spaces when converting distances or angles to text: Click the check box to display distances and angles with hyphens instead of spaces. Doing this does not affect how distances or angles are entered; you cannot use spaces when entering distances or angles.

Linear Units

Unit Types Select the way you want linear measurements to display.

Scientific Exponential notation.

Decimal Decimal units (use for Metric).

Engineering Feet and decimal inches.

Architectural Feet and fractional inches.

Fractional Fractional inches (no feet).

Display Precision Select the accuracy to which you want linear measurements displayed, which defines the number of decimal places shown for all units except Fractional. The default value is 4 decimal places (or 1/16 in fractional units); the maximum is 8 decimal places (or 1/256 in fractional units); the minimum is 0, which displays linear measurements as integers.

Angular Units

Unit Types Select the way you want angular measurements to display.

Display Precision Select the accuracy to which you want angular measurements displayed. The default value is 0 decimal places; the maximum is 8 decimal places for decimal degrees.

Angle Direction Select whether you want angles measured clockwise or counterclockwise (the default) from the Angle Base.

Angle Base Select the degree from which you want angles measured. The default setting is zero degrees, which points East and is the most commonly used direction. Some drawings require that zero degrees points North.

User Coordinate System

UCS Icon Select whether you want the UCS icon turned off, turned on (the default), or displayed at the origin (0,0,0). When you select On, the UCS icon is displayed in the lower-right corner of the window, no matter which part of the drawing you are viewing.

Show Plan View When Changing UCS Click the check box to select it to display the plan view before going to the new UCS.
